Sikia is one of two full-service restaurants managed and operated by Washburne Culinary Institute. Sikia features a rotating menu that highlights the variety of cuisines and cultures students study while enrolled in the culinary program.

All of the food is prepared and served by senior-level Washburne Culinary students. Students working in Sikia are able to further their expertise in menu planning, food preparation and cooking, as well as gain essential front-of-the-house service skills. Sikia is the final class before the students graduate and launch their culinary careers.

Sikia Restaurant features:

  • Contemporary cuisine prepared by senior-level Washburne Culinary students
  • Reasonably priced menus
  • A serene, streamlined decor featuring unique African artwork

For the Summer 2017 semester, Sikia is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Closed July 4.

Sikia will be open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m and 5pm-7pm for the Fall 2017 semester.

Reservations are  strongly recommended; please call 773.602.5200

Sikia’s dining room is often filled to capacity and a reservation is the best way to be certain that you will be able to dine with us; walk-ins are not always able to be accommodated.

Because Sikia operates on the school schedule with students in the Restaurant Service class, it is periodically closed for classroom activities and as the semesters change.  All guests are encouraged to call and make reservations prior to arriving to ensure that the dining room is open when they would like to visit.

Sikia’s last day of service for the Summer semester is August 10, 2017. We will be re-opening for the Fall semester on September 13, 2017.  Thank you for supporting the culinary students. We look forward to your visit!
