Chef Alexander S. Dering, CEC, CHE, FSSMC
Chef Dering brings an outstanding resume to Washburne with over 40 years in the foodservice industry. He graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in 1976 and has worked at some of the country’s finest restaurants including Le Chantilly and Quo Vadis in New York City and The Ritz Carlton, L’Escargot, The Arts Club of Chicago and Arnie’s Restaurant, Chicago. He has consulted on many restaurant endeavors including The American Grill, Morton’s Steak House and Drink in Chicago and The Bear Café in Woodstock, NY. Chef Dering was featured in the video series “Great Chefs of America” and “Dining in with the Best Chefs.” He has been featured on many local Chicago television programs. In 2012, Chef Dering received the “Educator of the Year Award” at the Annual Showcase Dinner.
