Chef Jenny Lewis, CCE, CHE
Chef Jenny Lewis’ passion for food began at any early age. She simultaneously earned a Bachelor of Arts degree while working in the hospitality industry, including positions in everything from hot dog shops to fine dining to four-star hotel food establishments. With an added AAS in Culinary Arts and 20-plus years of industry experience, she involved herself with teaching, earning a CCE (Certified Culinary Educator) certificate from the American Culinary Federation and CHE (Certified Hospitality Educator) from the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute.
Nine years of teaching at the college level drew Chef Lewis to writing about food and a monthly column for the Daily Southtown newspaper, “Baking Bits.” A current and much larger writing project resulted in the book “Midwest Sweet Baking History: Delectable Classics around Lake Michigan” (History Press Publisher, 2011).
